Err, no. First, 256 color chunky is not the same as 2 color planar, and
second, even if it was, the difference is more attributable to the much
faster hardware on the card than to any particular organization of
graphics data.

I'm not saying I'm a HW guru (I'm not :) ), but I've heard this alot and
the word is that 2 color planar and 256 color chunky are both i 1 bitplane.

I'll leave the explanation to the experts.

That's why Doom clones run sooo slooow on AGA.

Yes, the card is of course much faster than the AGA HW.<

I've found the Cybergraphics update on aminet (gfx/board), but it's pretty
useless as I can't find an original cybergfx lib to update.

Help!

You need to find yourself some new experts :-). They are not the same
either in organization or memory use.

:^) He means that a 1-bitplane Amiga screen and a SVGA screen have one
thing in common...they're both chunky format. As soon as the Amiga chipset
uses 2-bitplanes or higher, the representation is planar. A 1-bitplane
screen is essentially chunky in nature.

That could be :)

I don't wanna go on arguing about this for ever.
Everything I've written here comes from another sorce. If that source
is wrong(as you say) then so be it :)

Well remove bit from bitplane and you have plane and they are both 1 plane :)
