Do we have anything that will convert Quicktime anim files to something
viewable on an Amiga?

Why convert? AT and Apple are working on QuickTime for the Amiga!

If you can't wait until then, try XANIM (only if you have an AGA machine
or a graphics card" or MainActor Broadcast (only if you have $300 to
throw away!)

Hope this helps.

Would be nice, but do you have any reliable sources for this?

Indeed. XAnim can play Quicktime files, and has an option to save
individual IFF frames. Problem is it's still buggy and CLI-only (there is
a GUI for it on Aminet, which I've already dloaded, but haven't got the
time to try it out...)

Hope Apple still exist as a company when they're done... :^(

Well, it's a little dated....but in December Petro Tyschenko told me in
person that the rumour about Apple having provided a Quick Time port to
the Amiga was true.

Now if only that meant that we'll see it for sure....

Your best bet would be Mainactor Broadcast which has a QT loader and the
ability to save it as IFF.

Xanim8 plays .mov files nice and fast on my Picasso, better
than AVI's or Mpegs.

Lawrence Wilson <dukat@suba.com> provided the following

Terje Pedersen's XAnim Amiga port works quite fine even on the ECS,
although it is quite slow and ugly and doesn't support Intel Indeo®
codec...
