The A1200 (and A500, A600) are simply not designed to be fully expandable.
That would cause more production cost, which is not affordable in this
price class. Anyone who buys an A1200 (or even more so the CD32) to get
a fully expandable desktop computer, has taken the wrong choice. There
was the A4000/030 as an alternative, and yes, it was cheaper than an
A1200 with all those internal plus external expansions! People should
think more before buying, I recommend.

Now this is again a good advice. I also know a lot of people who have
configured their A2000 to be fit for current demands, they have no
complaints.
