I have an Amiga 3000UX and wanting to connect on to the internet. Right now I using a IBM Comp. pc using TCP winsock and I have a slip account through my school. I haven't use my Amiga for about 4 years now and wanting to use it again. What type of hardware to I need? Modem? Any recommandation? What software to I need? I using WNET with alot of nice clients software right now and really like it, is there a version like it on Amiga format.

As long as you still have some room on you harddisk in your A3000 you don't need any additional hardware. If you wan't to use inlined graphics in a browser however you should upgrade to Kick/WB 3.0+. Modem? Any external modem should work therefore I can't give any recommendation on this side. Software? Either you get hold of the Surfer package of AT or you try to pick the best from AmiNet (which I did). Still any questions? Well, send me a email. You need this from Aminet:
TCP/IP connection
AmiTCP-demo-40.lha comm/tcp 738K 70+TCP/IP protocol stack
If you use PPP
PPP1_45.lha comm/net 111K 60+SANA-II PPP.device evaluation version
Email & news package
thor222_inet.lha comm/mail 81K 10+Internet archive for THOR 2.22 (TCP/SOUP/UUCP)
thor222_main.lha comm/mail 790K 9+Offline reader, main archive (required)
WWW-reader (IBrowse)
http://www.omnipresence.com/ibrowse/demo.html
And this because IBrowse use MUI (a better-looking gui system)
mui33usr.lha dev/gui 797K 0+MagicUserInterface V3.3, user files
IBrowse is a beta but quit good I think. You need no additional hardware
except modem which is equal for PC. I use USR Sportster 28800 which satisfy
me.
