The Neptun and even the Sirius 2 (from electronic design) are really
the optimum for S-Video. The SuperGen was reported to be also good,
but I haven't seen one with my own eyes.
The Neptun/Sirius can be controlled over a serial port, even if You
want to use a multiserial card. It is no Problem to use any serial
device that is available.

If you really know how the hardware works, you'll write better software,
and if you really know how the software works, you'll design better
hardware.
