I used to run my A1000 from the HD of my A3000 a while back and it seemed to get pretty good speed for loading programs over ParNet. I don't have any exact numbers in bytes/sec, but it the speed was in between hard drive & floppy drive speed. It was definitely closer to HD speed than floppy though, for sure. This is really a great use of ParNet. My old A1000 never has had a hard drive in it. You can even set up a special WB floppy to mount Parnet at boot-up and transfer all of it's assigns through the NET: (ie; SYS:, C:, etc.). It sure beats running from floppies. :-) -- Steve Edford sledford@iglou.com
