artser isn't fast - try 8n1.device

 8n1.lha              comm/misc   27K+Replaces serial.device.  V37.13

Your errors could because by overruns because serial.device can't get the
data fast enough. There is no limit to the speed when sending, that's
why it isn't slowed down.
