Regarding your problems as described.
Your difficulties sound much like the problems I see with
Window-NT servers.
Perhaps your new provider is running a Win_NT box?

Amiga Internet software does not yet work correctly with Win-NT systems
and I am not enough of a programmer to know what to do about it.

I did (finally) get Mr. Kruse's PPP 1.40 device, and that seems
to help a little ... perhaps a five percent improvement toward
a 100% fix.
