On or about 07-Mar-96 13:09:23 Thomas Eicher typed the following words about
"SMTPpost". My reply is thus...

 Hi Thomas,

 TE> Hi all,

TE> I just recently got my TCP/IP account with POP. To read the
TE> mail, I try Voodoo at the moment.
TE> From fooling around with Networking some time ago, I still
TE> have a (working) SMTPpost installed, I believe from INetutils.

TE> My question is how do I _write_ mails offline, then send em
TE> when connected. I get it that SMTPpost has a spool option, but

Use SmtpPost with the -Q option while off line. That puts all outgoing mail in
the spool directory. Then when you go on line run SMTPd and it will send the
mail. I used it that way here for a while and it worked quite well. I use THOR
now. News and Mail all in one plus it supports things QWK, FIDO etc.

TE> I)'d have to use a SMTPd to send them out again.
TE> IS there an easier solution ?
TE> Wouldn't it be better to just use "cat >spooldir: uniquefilename"
TE> as mailer, then run SMTPpost on every program in spooldir: ? (Like,
TE> with List lformat; execute; or with xargs or something
 TE> like that...)

 TE> Suggestions appreciated

 TE> Tom.
