Did you kill the following:

        envarc:mui
        env:mui

I ran into problems when I upgraded from earlier versions of REGISTERED MUI to
3.2.  Apps wouldn't open or if they did, it was BIZARRE.....  I had to
re-configure everything but since then things have worked great.
