AWeb Problems - it just wedges

I'm using AWeb 1.0a on an A4000/40 with networking via AmiTCP 4.x
(registered). My Internet connection is via a 14400 bps modem.
AWeb is (generously) configured to run on its own 64-colour screen.

After (quite) some time on the net, browsing back and forth, and
especially while there are simultaneous image loads, Aweb will simple
wedge solid. No more packets go out, even though pings to the sites its
talking to work, and netstat still reports the connection as open.

Very aggravating when you're doing parallel ftp downloads off Aminet's
recent list. :-(

In the same session, I sometime get "illegal color conversion" errors
as well as some images which will not display with the datatypes which
I have. Unfortunately, I cannot as yet isolate a particular web page
which causes the hiccup, though I've visited some with nasty netscape
stuff with apparently no ill effects.

Although I'm not sure I could ever go back to AMosaic after AWeb.
It never happened with AMosaic though... well, not much happened
with AMosaic to start :-)

Any ideas as to how I can isolate the problem?
