Yes.  Your ISP is the system.

Yes, conferences are the newsgroups.

No, you don't have to setup the user info for each newsgroup, just for
each system.  i.e. for a BBS, your ISP, another BBS, Fidonet, etc.
Much of that can be simply handled by setting up the global settings
and keeping the default to use global settings.

Apparently there are a number of ISPs which don't carry the group yet.
If you can't find it in the list, then you'll have to request your ISP
to start carrying it.  There seems to be an average of 20 messages a
day right now.
