🚀 go-pugleaf

I have recently decided to connect to the Internet, so I got the following
software:

    - AmiTCP 4.2
    - PPP 1.44 Registered

Then I subscribed with a local provider and installed everything. I chose the
following setup:

    Dynamic IP address with PPP/PAP

The installation procedure seemed to go straight, but...
...there is a little problem: every time I type 'startnet' I get the following
message:

AmiTCP couldn't be started!

And, when I type 'online ppp0', I get the following:

S2_ONLINE: Device driver is offline (Unit is currently offline)


The messages are not very explanatory to me, so I have absolutely no idea of
what happened.
I tried to monitor the call with SnoopDOS, but it also is not very
informative...
I read an re-read AmiTCP manual and PPP docs, but I don't really know what's
going wrong.

Is there anybody who could help me? I could also send AmiTCP log file and every
config file
created by the installation scripts.

I made all the work on the following configuration:

HARDWARE:

    Amiga3000 25Mhz , 2MB Chip + 8MB Fast
    HD Quantum 200Mb + HD Fujitsu 540Mb (SCSI II)
    External SCSI II Sanyo CD-ROM
    External Modem JET 28800
    PICASSO II Graphic Board
    Kickstart 3.1

RUNNING SOFTWARE

    PowerSnap 2.2
    PowerCache 37.64
    PowerData  1.0b
    Magic Menu 1.22
    VMM 3.3
    YAK 2.11
    Toolmanager 2.1b
    MagicSelector 1.80

    I also replaced FFS with AMIFILESAFE PRO on ALL my partition (except VMM's)
