I could guess either bad images which aren't supported by the
datatypes or simply running out of chip mem...

Well, I ran 1.0 quite quite fine on my A3000, but it sure had little
quirks (enforcing some styles for certain font types and minor visual
disharmonies with Urouhack, broken 68000 support (didn't affect me ;))
etc.) which seem to be now fixed in 1.1.
