We have our Amiga connected to the outside world via a terminal server [which we share with a Sun], hence all our logins are via telnetd.device. Since we did this we experienced a lot of crashes, which we were able to pin on telnetd.device. It turns out there is a bug which occurs if there is an error on the connection [remote end aborts etc], which will kill the Amiga. Once we identified this problem Christopher was able to send us a fix in ~24 hours. So far, no more problems. So if telnetd.device crashes your machine, get the update. BTW we used to have all our modem lines coming directly into the Amiga, and we used telnetd.device for incoming telnet and rlogin connects, which were pretty infrequent. We ran like this for a long time with no problems, we only noticed a problem when we moved all our logins to telnetd.device.
