I use amitcp because I am (other than this speed problem) happy with it.
I have everything set up as I want it. (but I have tried Miami)
: place? None of them have Built in dialers though. The ONLY one with
: a Dialer built in would be AmiPPP. So if you want to use the
: ppp.device then use AmiPPP.
fair enough.
: How do you know Miami is really working at 115200 baud? You do know
because it works. I set the serial speed to 115200, and it connects, and
runs fine. (which doesn't happen with amitcp - therefore I assume that
it must be due to the device driver, as others with same sort of setup
appear to have no problems).
: a Normal Amiga is not going to support such a speed in the first place

: maybe. SOme people say you can with a 030, but I had no luck with my

: Res MultiScan Productivity mode which is more depanding, and Screen
: depth also makes a differance. Best way is with a differnt serial
: port other then commodores outdated slow built in serial port which
: was fine for the A1000 back then when 9600 baud modems were still
: rare, but not now.
oops - maybe I should have mentioned the spec: A4000/030 with 882,
enough memory (18meg), and a MULTIFACE III serial card.
(which will run at 115200 with no problems)

Jonathan Waland - walaj@abstruse.demon.co.uk - Running off an A4000/030/882
Now Hands up who knows what ABSTRUSE means???
Cahn's Axiom - When all else fails, read the instructions.
