Thor 2.22 & Internet

I tried to install Thor 2.22 and the Internet archive, and
everything went fine until I tried to get mail or news.

Where the heck is inet: suppossed to be assigned?!?!?

This is the only thing that is stopping me from using Thor
as mail & news reader. HELP!!!

 I am using AmiTCP4.0 demo.

 Thanks,

You have to add the socket.library to your system, get it from the grapevine
archive on aminet.

Try 'assign inet: amitcp:', works for me.

Thor is a AS-225 program. So you need to use the socket.library. Download a
copy of that library, set up the config, then you need to assign inet: to your
AmiTCP directory, something like
assign inet: DH1:AmiTCP or whatever it is for you. Not hard to do.

Then read the Docc's for the socket.library and it'll tell you want to do to
setup a config file for it using the setenv command. Pretty simple.

You should assign inet: where you have assigned AmiTCP: Simple as that. I'm
also using the same software as you mentioned here, and I haven't had any
had problems, yet....

2.4 "Could not open socket.library".

Your socket.library is not installed correctly. Do the following:

- Assign inet: to Amitcp:, like this: "Assign inet: amitcp:"
- Create a directory called "libs" in Amitcp: (if it doesn't exist
  already).
- Copy socket.library to Amitcp:libs.
- Setup the SOCKETCONFIG file in envarc:/env: as described in the
  socket.library documentation.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
2.5 "domain name missing.." when sending mail.

Your socket.library is not correctly configured. Create a file in envarc:
and env:. Here's my file:

UID=100 GID=100 USER=pettern DOMAIN=icenet.no UMASK=002

Replace the USER with you username, and DOMAIN with your domain,
and it should work fine.
