I made a small change to sendmail for bouncing messages today.
I changed so that it'll bounce to "Errors-To:" if the header is present.
The diff below shows some other changes. I changed the way MailLog is updated
by sendmail/rmail, because I have hacked together some billing software to
track UUCP usage of my users (I try to recover my costs by applying a small
charge for outgoing USENET, and both incoming and outgoing Email).
Also, the original source didn't close the MailLog file.

Don't ask me for a binary.....I don't have the time, money, or desire to
create and send binaries for all the possible requests.

This was a good idea. I've added it to the base sendmail-38 source.

I didn't add this. All of this data (plus a bit more) was already in
the MailLog file, albeit in a different format (yyyymmddhhmmss and you
changed it to mm/dd hh:mm:ss).

This was intentional. You'll note that "static FILE *ml" ensured that
the maillog was only opened once (in append mode). If lots of deliveries
are happening in a single sendmail invocation (like delivering to a
mailling list); your change causes two bad things to happen:
1) the file is closed, and a second call would write to an
invalid file descriptor
2) if the file _was_ re-opened, the open-with-append would
cause a seek to EOF on each open (which is expensive).
All "FILE *" files are guaranteed to be closed at program termination;
and this code block depended on that feature.
I didn't add this change.
