You can (of course) cut and paste in the window >and between that window and others. > I realize that this would be a GNO specific feature, but that is ok. No ,it wouldn't! If you write it well, it should work on any UNIX. All you need is to make the c system() call (I think that's it -- I don't have C) with output piped for the shell's output and for input, input the same way any other text is entered into emacs, and when enter is pressed (and the hypothetical mode "SHELL" is active), the line under the cursor is passed to the shell. As for the usefulness, I don't know. How often does one need that? (Though I'm sure someone has a VERY good use for it) Oh, and you know what would be really neat? Nah, there's already a lot of changes planned for 1.1 I'll keep this for much later, 1.2 or something :) ______________________________________________________________________ |~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~|~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~|~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| | Phillip Vandry | Vandry@Cam.Org | (Advertsing space available) | |________________|________________|____________________________________| ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
