BAUG GOES ON-LINE TO APPLE II SITES AT RUTGERS 6.24
=======================================================

The Big Apple Users Group will meet at Hank Levinson's office at Rutgers
Newark, 326 Smith Hall, 101 Warren St., Newark, NJ, at 6:30 pm, on Monday,
June 24. We will access Apple II on-line sites from the Rutgers computer
lab.

If you have any questions please call me at (718)499-7470 or Polly at
(212)956-3634, or e-mail us at baug@dorsai.org. For your future
information, we announce our meetings on our hotline, (212)603-9007.

We usually meet on West 58th Street near Columbus Circle or on Barrow
Street in Greenwich Village in Manhattan. Prof. Levinson has generously
made the facilities at Rutgers available to us for this month's meeting.
You are welcome whether you are a novice or a power user. We hope to see
you at the meeting.

Directions via PATH:

You can take the PATH train from the 33rd St. station (at W 33rd St. and
6th Ave., a block east of Penn Station, NYC) to Journal Square (marked
JSQ), changing there for Newark (marked NWK), or you can take PATH
directly from the World Trade Center to Newark (NWK). There are other
stops on the 33rd St. line along 6th Ave. at 23rd St., 14th St., and 9th
St., and a stop at Christopher St. and Hudson St. Hank says it takes
about 3/4 hr. to travel from the 33rd St. PATH station to Rutgers, Newark.

Neil Wotherspoon has volunteered to guide those who are unfamiliar with
travel to Newark. He will wait until 5:30 pm in the middle at the top of
the escalators down to the PATH station in the WTC. He will be wearing a
tag labeled "BAUG" in bold-face type.

The PATH takes you to Penn Station in Newark. To continue thence
according to Hank's directions:

Take the City Subway two stops to Washington Ave. Get out of the station
by walking in the direction of the subway car, and you will emerge onto a
one-way street going left. Turn right, against traffic, and walk one block
to Warren Street. There is a slight hill there, and My building is next to
the top: 101 Warren Street, Smith Hall. My office is room 326.

Hank's Direction's for drivers:

Perhaps the simplest route from New York to Rutgers, Newark is to take the
Holland tunnel. Keep left after emerging into NJ and take Routes 1 & 9,
the Pulaski Skyway. There are a series of bridges over the meadows (i.e.
swamps) and hence its name. The last bridge is visibly the last, and
almost at its end, the there is an off ramp for Newark via Raymond
Boulevard. Take Raymond Blvd. west to Newark. Stay in the left lane after
Penn Station, and several long blocks and traffic lights later, the road
will narrow. Go two blocks past this major intersection (at Raymond &
Broad St.) and turn right. This is a one way street called Washington Ave.
Go two blocks, and just past the golden dome of the Rutgers gym, turn left
into Warren St. It is a hill, and Smith Hall is 101 Warren. There should
be street parking. My office is 326 Smith Hall.

If all else fails, ask where Rutgers is, and once there, ask for Smith
Hall.

Some BAUGers may be driving to the meeting and might be able to take a
few people. Let us know if you need a ride.

Where to eat:

There are plenty of fast food places in Penn Station (NYC), and in the
WTC. Hank has invited those who wish to join him after the SIG to "really
good meal" in one of the restaurants in the Ironbound section near Penn
Station (Newark).
