Welcome to Big Apple Users Group of New York, a group for users of Apple II & MacIntosh computers. We are affiliated with the Dorsai Embassy, an internet service provider, and the New York Amateur Computer Club. On Monday, June 19, at 6:45 pm, we will hold our quarterly general meeting at Greenwich House, 27 Barrow St, one block south of Sheridan Square, just west of 7th Ave, in Greenwich Village. Following a Q & A session, Polly Bookhout will conduct a hypermedia demonstration. Hypermedia links sound and full motion video and allows non-linear access to that info. HyperStudioGS will be the main act, but she will also show animations created by QuickClick Morph and Animasia. For Apple IIe and IIc users, there will also be demos of TutorTech, Slide Show, and Media Magic. Polly Bookhout will host a meeting of the Apple II SIG at her place, 345 West 58th St., Apt 5L, just west of Columbus Circle, at 6:30 pm Monday, June 26. Jim O'Reilly will demonstrate Applesoft BASIC using Beagle Bros' Program Writer and the Beagle Compiler, and will run several programs he's written. The Game of Life mimics the growth and collapse of populations under conditions of crowding. Another program finds duplicate records in a file. On Monday, July 17, at 6:45 pm, we will meet for our annual Pizza Sig at John's Pizzeria, 278 Bleecker St., on the south side of Bleecker St. between 6th and 7th Ave, just opposite the corner of Jones St., (212)243-1680. We will eat and talk informally. We would like to know what your interests are, what software and hardware you use, what ideas you may have for future programs. Stay tuned here for further developments, or call our hotline at (212)603-9007. You may ask us questions on-line at baug@dorsai.org. If you wish to talk to us, please call Jim O'Reilly at (718)499-7470, Don Pickering at (718) 522-5096 (evenings), or Polly Bookhout at (212)956-3634.
