For Sale: Digidesign Sound Tools system for Atari Mega ST. Note,
this system REQUIRES a Mega ST because the DSP board plugs directly
onto the Mega ST's bus. I paid over $2000 for this system, and
am asking $450 or best offer. It's in very good condition and
comes with original manuals, etc. If you're unfamiliar with
the system, here's what it does:

The Digidesign Sound Tools system is a hard disk digital audio
recording, playback, and editing system. It can be used for
mastering CD's, tapes, etc. or for editing digital audio. The
system I'm selling consists of the following 3 components:

  1) DAT I/O digital interface for doing direct digital audio I/O
(entirely in digital domain) from DAT, Mini Disc, DCC, or a CD
player that has digital output. It has both AES/EBU and
S/P DIF ins/outs. This is a separate box with cable that
plugs into the DSP processor described below.

  2) The Sound Tools DSP, a Motorola 56001 DSP processor
on a 'card' that plugs onto the Mega ST bus. This processor
speeds up DSP functions, and allows things like realtime
  EQ during playback.

  3) The Sound Designer II software. This is the software that
drives the hardware described above. In addition to
recording and playing back digital audio it includes cut
and paste editing, scrub editing, EQ, waveform redraw,
normalization, regions and playlists, fades and gain
changes, smoothing, mixing of sound files, sample
  rate conversion, and time compression/expansion.

In addition to the components described above I also have
final beta copies of the Digidesign MasterList software
(For putting together a Master List of several songs with
timing, blank space, etc. for a CD or tape).

If interested in this system please reply via Email to
drichard@execpc.com.

Thanks,

Dean
