Hypertext? I haven't seen those, only the flat-text docs. Are the HT
versions in English? Where can I get them?

(I think that should be WF_... etc. in the wind_set call, not WM_...)

Nope, it just shrinks the window. You use WF_UNICONIFY to bring it back
again. 

Anyway, from the MAGX.H header file that comes with the programming docs:

#define WM_ICONIFY          34
#define WM_UNICONIFY        35
#define WM_ALLICONIFY       36

These are sent to you by the window manager (i.e. through evnt_multi() ).
You then respond with wind_set() using the values:

#define WF_ICONIFY          26
#define WF_UNICONIFY        27

I believe I obtained the (German) programming documents from 
ftp.uni-paderborn.de - look for mgx4doc.lzh
