i tried posting this before but i think that the posting program ate it...

the chip is a 74S244N buffer chip, unfortunately it would involve too
much disassemble of my floppy drive to trace all the wires and give
you the pin outs. but basically you need to buffer all of the signals
from the ST to the disk drive OR use a cmos level disk drive (as compared
to TTL level)
