TT's and 68020

While every one else (Apple, Commodore) is coming out with a 68020
machine, why is atari bringing out the Megas?  I like the ST, and had
planned to get a Mega to replace my 520ST (serial no. 501), but now
I want a 68020.  Even if it could be upgraded, that would be fine!!
(I think that's the case with the Amiga 2000?)

On another note (a beam of hope?), what's the status of the TT's?
Are they real, did I read somewhere that they were supposed to be
displayed at the fall Comdex or something?  Any rumors would be 
appreciated.
