Atari "ST" WANTED

I bought a weird old direct-to-hard drive digital recording system today.
It requires an "ST" series Atari to operate.

Here's the quote on system requirements:

o An Atari ST series computer with a minimum of 2M of RAM.... Color or
Monochrome monitor and 1 double-sided disk drive.

Later in the manuals, TOS 1.4 or above is recommended.

A little blurb sheet thrown into the box mentions "520 and 1040 STE models and
MEGA STE ...... MEGA 4". I would guess the "520" is a mis-print for "512".
I would assume these machines are compatible if they meet the stipulations
above (have been upgraded). I know a DMA and cartridge port are required.

Hoping to pay between $150 for a complete system (512 based) which meets the
minimum requirement and maybe $300 for, say, a color system with 4 megs
RAM. A small bootable hard drive with system software and the like
might sweeten the deal but I've got a number of drives I can use. I might be
interested in accelerators and math-co hardware to accelerate the mixing
and time-compression operations, but I'm not looking at this machine
as a replacement for my Sun SS2 :)

I actually have 2 of these systems and I hear they can be sync'd via SMPTE
but that each will require a seperate ST :( so I might be interested in a
second machine. As it will be a slave system it will not need a monitor,
in fact if it can auto-boot off one of my hard drives the floppy drive
need not even work. Also I tend to come across monitors for these systems,
and don't mind installing SIMMs or ROMS if sockets are provided.... my point
being if it's cheap enough and can be applied toward my little project
pass it across my bow....

E-mail me if you've got a system or a machine. I'll probably settle on
an offer (or decide to scrap the project) in a week or two.

Thank you!
