The BeBox is a new dual PowerPC, multitasking, multimedia, internetworking
computer from Be Inc.  This new technology is of interest to anyone who
wants a high-performance low-cost system especially suited for hardware
hacking (the BeBox includes a 'geekport(tm)'), multimedia (fast graphics,
good sound), and internetworking (four serial ports and TCP/IP-related
software included). 

The BeBox is currently shipping to accepted developers for about $1700 for
a fully configured system without monitor.  Consumer price is expected to
be under $3,000 when the machine ships to the public.  For more

Firebug, the First BeBox Users' Group is sponsoring a live demo of this 
system, tentatively set for Sat., Feb. 24th, 1996 in Bellingham, WA 
(midpoint between Vancouver BC and Seattle WA.).  Details to be announced.

The BeBox is attracting a large number of developers from the Amiga, Mac 
and NeXT communities, with about 1000 applying for developer status so 
far.  Major companies, like Adobe Systems Incorporated, are taking a 
serious look at the possibility of porting major software to the BeBox 
system.

will be attending.
