SCU is being ported to EP/IX (the CDC variant of Unix).
The port is written in C, so it should be possible to
port it to other Unix platforms. The main obstacle seems
to be that CDC refuses to do such ports or to provide the
source code to customers. I don't quite get the rationale
behind it; they won't be selling more CD4000 just because
SCU is on it but they chase away potential SCU users from
EP/IX if SCU is not an open systems product.

I have been arguing on VIM/ECODU and in this group for
quite some time. Perhaps it helps if more people start
pestering.
