REAL data types on the VAX and the PRO

When I create a file of REAL numbers using Pascal on a VAX/VMS and
try to read this data file using Pascal on a PRO 380 I get the wrong
values. Both machines use 32 bits for a real number.

What is going on? Are the words in reverse order? Is there an easy
way to correct this or should I just use text files?

The same problem occurs when I create an INTEGER file on the VAX and
read it on the PRO using LONG_INTEGER type.
