I just wanted to emphasize the eraser type.  It's important to use the
right eraser.  The standard pink erasers usually contain sulfur, and
this will CAUSE corrosion problems, not cure them (the same is true for
cleaning battery contacts with an eraser). I don't know if there's a
specific green eraser you're referring to, but another good eraser to
use for cleaning electronic components is the white drafting eraser
(like Staedtler makes).
