Before you install the drive, you need to make sure the ROMs on the hard disk controller card are up to the proper revision level. ROM#1: 073B2, ROM#2: 072B2, ROM#3: 071B2. If you don't have these ROMs, it probably won't work. I'm running P/OS 3.2 on my system; I don't know about Venix 2.0 support for the larger drives. One other anomaly I noticed during installation: when P/OS went to format the hard disk, it seemed to do an excessive amount of head seeks. It seemed as though it was resetting the head to track 0 between each write, which didn't seem proper. There may be a jumper option on the ST225 that I didn't have set the same way as on the DEC version (the RD31). In any event, it was slow, but it did format correctly and I was able to install the O/S just fine afterwards. I obtained my upgrade ROMs from a local shop, DEKTECH in here in Sunnyvale California. Good luck! Kurt
