Lotus 123 works fine on the hard drive with no floppie disks in the
machine. But when I copy the files to the floppies, it crashes.
how many hidden files are on the lotus sys disk?
I guess that I could just backup all of the lotus files on the hd but
I'm worried that I may miss a hidden file or two and then if I
need to replace the data on the hd, it won't work.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, Nolan

The copyright was overturned on the basis that dBase II was derived
from a Government program (Vulcan). I *assume* but don't know,
that A-T would have to show that at some point they abandoned
all the public contribution and came up with a completely new
product, in order to substantiate the copyright.

It shouldn't crash; this may indicate that you have copied it wrong. I
seldom use Lotus, but I seem to recall that if the protection
isn't correct, you will either get a message when you start up
and/or certain of the functions won't work (e.g., printing and saving).

There's a program called DISK, available here as DISK31.ZIP, that lets
you see all files (incl. hidden ones) in a directory and
change the attributes so they are unhidden and can be copied.
