Following Barry Kort's advice, I fixed my keyboard problem (thanks
Barry!!)... now, on to the next problem...

It boots up in P/OS 3.1.... and then asks me to LOG IN! Since
I got this machine from an auction, i have no idea what to try.

Any ideas?

In <1992Sep29.130407.3775@arizona.edu>, Bill Petrisko asked if a set of boot
disks were available for the DEC Professional.

After DEC stopped supporting the Professional, they gave the operating system
and other software to the Digital Equipment Corporation Users Society (DECUS)
for distribution. This software included:

    diskette set software
    ------------ --------
    PRO174 PRO/Basic
    PRO175 PRO/DECnet
    PRO176 PRO/Sight
    PRO177 PRO/Operating System
    PRO178 PRO/Tool Kit
    PRO179 PRO/Installation & Maintenance
PRO180 Synergy, Communication & Prose Plus
    PRO181 Software Boot Floppy

The Professional operating system (P/OS) is available from DECUS in two forms:

    - PRO177 -- an RX50 diskette set containing 21 disks
    - VS0112 -- a VAX tape containing images of all the above diskettes except
PRO181. (PRO181 may be used to rebuild the diskettes using a
Professional. It is unnecessary if one has a VAX with an RX50
                disk drive.)

I obtained a copy of the tape and have recreated all the diskette sets thereon,
including PRO177. In total, there are almost 60 disks. I will provide a copy
if you agree to agree to reimberse me for the cost of the disks, associated
shipping charges and a portion of the cost of the tape.

P.S. There is also another tape VS0110 which includes most of the other DECUS
P/OS disks (as opposed to RT-11 disks). The tape also incudes other software
not available from DECUS on disk. I have the tape, but have not yet moved its
files to disk.
