Don -

Your suggestions on the LQP02 yielded better 'self-test' results
than I have previously gotten, but still would not complete the job. I
eventually shifted to a new attack: swap boards between the
one you sent and my mal-functioning unit until I either had
smoke coming out of one of the units, or until one of them
worked. Swapped the
'new' power board from your unit into my mal-functioning one, and
immediately had a completely operational unit. Needless to say, I quit
right there, buttoned everything up, and I don't plan to touch
either unit unless/until the operational unit quits!

Thanks for all of your help over the past few weeks. I'm really
pleased to be up and functional again!

Hi Frank.
Have left Raytheon and am now working at Integrated Systems Analysts
doing much the same as before, except have added a lot of PC work.
The purpose of message is my son, Curtis Jr. needs a DEC LA-50 Printer
o to allow DEC WPS word processing to work. Am hoping that you
could help in finding one at a reasonable price. Please respond
here or better yet call me at work which is not long distance to
you. My number is (703) 685-6021. By the way, the printer is to
work on his Rainbow. Hope you can help me. Thanks,
                   Curt Becker, Sr

Dick Ricketson at RDR Electronics in Denver is selling LA-50's for around
$50.00. You may want to give him a call. (303)690-7712. He also has LA-100's
but I don't know what price.

Don -
This worked out great as far as I am concerned. I now have a
fully functional LQP02, plus an additional unit that I can use for
spare parts in the future (hope I don't need them, though!).

Could use a bit of information about font cartridges for the LA100,
though. Any idea where these items might be available, and do you have
any idea concerning a price range?

Again, thanks, and this deal worked out to my satisfaction (with
still a bit of residual curiosity over eventual proper delivery of the
other two packages you sent at the time you posted the printer
to me???).

Just as long as you are satisfied, that was my only concern. I did get
another LQP-02 just in case. Guess I'll go ahead and sell it
now along with the LA-100PC I have sitting around.

Seen a couple but only had one to call my own. Couldn't begin to quess
where to pick them up from. Sorry.

Subject: RAM ADAPTORS

Don, a new member of our user group up here is looking for a ram
adaptor board for his A. he has a weird ram board in his
machine right now (on the 'solder' side of the board is both a
4-pin connector and a 27-pin single row of pins, (like for a
daughterboard) the only identificatin on the board are the
letters 'digi' in a circle, the #'s 48-83 and an assembly #.
if you still have adaptors, let me know so I can have him send
you a check for the $20 (I think they were)
