I tried e-mail, but it bounced...

We put the following lines in the file /.Xdefaults
(yes, that's "/' as in the root file system):

	XSessionManager*logoFile:       /logo.ps
	XSessionManager*logoFullScreen: true
	XSessionManager*InitializeDPS:  true

The file /logo.ps is a PostScript file.
