Is XmFileSelectionDoSearch() broken in VMS DecWindows (motif)????

hello,
	This function XmFileSelectionDoSearch() does not work in VMS
DecWindows motif version 1.0.  Has anyone experienced this problem and what
have you done to get around it????  I keep getting the following output:

X error event received from server:  BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
Failed request major op code 2 (X_ChangeWindowAttributes)
ResourceID 0x0 in failed request (if applicable)
Serial number of failed request 1776
Current serial number in output stream 1817
%XLIB-E-ERROREVENT, error event received from server
%TRACE-E-TRACEBACK, symbolic stack dump follows
