PDP 11 bootstrap codes

Is there a more realistic way to get a hold of the bootstrap codes for
ODT (?) booting a PDP11/73+ from various of its devices? (disk vs. tape drive,
etc.) If my lab collegue is correct, we would need to pay DEC $300 for
the 20 lines of PDP11 assembly which tell the machine to boot from the
magnetic tape. Is that right?!?

Thanks.
