We've got dec 5000/20s with monochrome monitors. How do I access their
frame buffers directly? The man pages are useless, the include
files seem incomplete, the mit X11R5 sources seem out of date.
We seem to be running Ultrix 4.2A.
What I really need is a screenblanker/screensaver that works outside
of the X window system, because we can't use the Xprompter login
method (we have our reasons), and our users can't be trusted with
brightness knobs :-/.
