(Why doesn't the > Ultrix dump have this?) I hate this too. I'm nervous since I don't know what sort of blocking factor I'm using when using Ultrix's dump and would like to make sure I'm using something optimal (8K bytes) for my Exabyte 8200 drive. Is it safe to to get BSD4.3 dump/rdump (ftp.uu.net:/packages/bsd-sources/sbin/dump) and use that under Ultrix 4.2A? Obiligatory whine: I end up replacing a lot of Ultrix utilities with BSD stuff (and other stuff, including GNU) every time I do an Ultrix installation. I seem to do less replacing under SunOS 4.[12]. Why can't Ultrix be at least BSD4.3-reno-ish? -- Eiji Hirai <hirai@cc.swarthmore.edu> : : : : : :: ::: :::: ::::: Unix Geek for Swarthmore College : : : : : :: ::: :::: ::::: Information Services, Swarthmore, PA, USA.
