Is there anyway (short of putting in new roms) to prevent a user from rebooting a dec 3100 workstation single user and thus becoming root? I have a handful of dec3100's who's file systems and boot partitions are on a dec 5100 file server. It kinda bothers me that with 2 minutes worth of work I can have root on any of these machines. Setting /etc/ttys to insecure is not a solution because the machines can still be booted single user. Not exporting root won't do the trick since you can su to anyone as root. Thanks in advance for any help steve neruda (neruda@geo2s.mps.ohio-state.edu)
