Greetings, I have a new DECstation 5000/125 which came with DEC OSF/Motif release 1.1.3. My problem is pretty simple, none of the Motif code I have tried to compile will link correctly. I have tried several packages, and the response from ld is always the same (cc command edited for readability): ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- cc -o mxqwais global.o main.o mocode.o waisq.o qread.o question.o document.o\ util.o source.o utils.o ../bin/inv.a ../bin/wais.a\ -lXm -lDXm -lXt -lX11 -lm ld: Undefined: I18nGetLocaleString I18nGetLocaleCharset I18nGetLocaleCharsets I18nCreateDefaultFontList I18nHasSubstring I18nCSConstructInit I18nCSConstructEnd I18nCSConstructSegment I18nCSConstructLine I18nCvtCStoFCInit I18nCvtCStoFCEnd I18nCvtCStoFCSegment I18nCvtCStoFCLine I18nCvtCStoOSInit I18nCvtCStoOSEnd I18nCvtCStoOSSegment I18nCvtCStoOSLine I18nCvtFCtoCS I18nCvtOStoCS _XtAddPDDestroyCallback _Xt_LoadQueryFont _XtAddCallbackForOtherWidget *** Error code 1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After grepping my way through the include directories, I found that the "I18n" routines have to do with internationalization. I have run 'nm' on all of the libraries I have, and have indeed found undefined references to these routines in /usr/lib/libDXm.a and /usr/lib/libXm.a. No library has the routines defined as local text. Where the last three routines from the Xtoolkit are, I have no idea. I have tried several variations on the ordering of the libraries with no luck. I have tried putting additional libraries in the path with no luck. I think that I am simply missing a library or that one of the libraries that DEC *thinks* I have isn't the right one (I did a full load from the CD-ROM marked, "ULTRIX DECwindows for OSF/Motif V1.1.3", AG-PPJ3A-RE). Am I missing something simple here? Could it be that I just not linking the things right? That's my hope anyway. If I *am* missing a library, where can I get it? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. -- -- Lee E.
