I've been told that the RZ55 will not work if you try connecting it to a SCSI card on a PC --- say, an Adaptec 1542B. Is this true? If so, can someone tell me why? I tried hooking up a RZ55 to a Macintosh, and tried running the SCSI Manager on it. It didn't work; nearly every operation it tried to do returned the Sense code error "Drive not ready". Is there some sort of DEC proprietary command that the drive is expecting before it will start working? =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Theodore Ts'o bloom-beacon!mit-athena!tytso 308 High St., Medford, MA 02155 tytso@athena.mit.edu Everybody's playing the game, but nobody's rules are the same!
