Driver for 8mm 'Python' from Archive?

I've been asked to see if anyone is aware of a driver for Ultrix which
will allow the use of an 8mm 'Python' driver from Archive. I know that
when I was at Unisys, no such beastie had been developed for our
Convergent-based Unix machines. Has anyone done so for the DEC line?

Apparently neither DEC nor Archive have such an animal. Are there
'independents' who create things like this? Or am I SOL?

Please reply via Email, as I don't often venture into comp.sys.dec.
I'll summarize if response warrants.

Thank you!
