Remote install of 3600

I want to install Ultrix on a VAXserver 3600 remotely. I have Ultrix 4.3 on
CD-ROM, and the 3600 only has tape. So, I set up RIS on a system with CD-ROM
to accept the 3600, but when booted via Ethernet and after selecting the
drive for the root filesystem, it fails, complaining that the system could
not be found in risdb, but it is in fact there. A second attempt claims it
cannot access the drive (RA82).

Can anyone tell me how to get around this?
