In article <1992Dec12.210756.993@dragon.com>, cts@dragon.com (Charles T. Smith, Jr.) writes... #I recently inherited a MicroVAX 2000... any documentation is long gone. #This beastie has a thinwire port; however, it does not appear to be #enabled. VMS boots ok; the only devices are the disk and the terminal #ports. # #Can anyone give me any hints on what it takes to enable the Ethernet #port? Which test F...E...D, etc, indicates the Ethernet, or how #to read the TEST 50 output? The MicroVAX 2000 has a thinwire ethernet port which is enabled and cannot be disabled. It test as TEST 1. If your boot shows: F...E...D... 1... then your ethernet is ok. If 1 shows as ? or _ then you've got an error. Type >>> TEST 1 and see what you get. The errors generaly mean (0000.7001 or some such) that you didn't hook it up to an active dempr port or thinwire network correectly. # Charles Smith # cts@dragon.com Ehud -- Ehud Gavron (EG76) gavron@vesta.sunquest.com It's OKAY --- I'm an INTELLECTUAL, too.
