When VMS is running an underscore in front of the device name means you
are pointing to that device instead of using the logical if it was
defined on that system (some systems may have defined a logical
MUA0: or DUA0: to point to a different device).

When standalone backup is running they should be no logicals defined
so the underscore in front of the device name would not be mandatory
(I never tried to enter underscores in front of device names when
I do standalone backups).
