VAXmate & Hard Card II xl

I hate to admit this, but I still have a VAXmate at home. I recently
bought a Hard Card II XL 50 meg disk from Quantum and have been trying
to install it, but with little success. I've tried altering the BIOS and
I/O addresses but to no avail.

Techniucal Support at Quantum have suggested that the power supply in
the expansion box for the VAXmate is not powerful enough to drive two
hard disks. I shall try disabling the original tonight to verify this.

My question is, has anyone out there successfully tried this and if so,
what did you do to get it to work?? Does anyone know if there is an
alternative power supply I could install, either internally or
externally? I should add that my budget is limited!

Any help much appreciated and best sent via e-mail to a.c.arnold@mcc.ac.uk
