I totally disagree with your comments ... not because I'm working for DEC
.. I can be very critic about some stuff which happens in my company ...

In this case, you should put the question in its context ... 
Believe it or not, but we have a lot of requests from customers for OSF/1
Alpha. This means that we have a lot of work to answer all different aspects
and we cannot do everything in one day ! We have to put some priorities ! 
The mail you are speaking about has to be putted in this context : asking for
some feedback to put a priority.

And even if you feel that this kind of questions is 'pathetic', be sure
that a lot of people inside DEC knows very well what they have to do to
be successfull inside the Unix market. And one of this person is Bob Palmer
himself !

But I totally agree that we should tell in a more positive way all things
we are doing internally to answer your problems.

I'm working for DEC since 5 years, and worked before for SUN during 4 years.
Believe me ... Things are changing dramatically inside DEC and in the good 
direction ...
