I would appreciate any input on the subject of third party maintenance for Digital products. Mail directly to me and I will summarize to the net. I am responsible for a MicroVax II at Glassboro State College in New Jersey. That's the only equipment under maintenance now; however, some Ethernet equipment and RISC workstations will need to be added in the future. I'm not dissatisfied with DEC maintenance quality, only with the price. But I can't afford to save bucks and increase my headaches. I've had some contact with Maintech as an alternative. I'd appreciate any comments, good or bad, about Maintech, Digital service, other alternatives, and general comments about the relative ease or difficulty of coordinating maintainence with a third party (for example, coordinating DEC warranty service with third party service). Thanks very much. Mike Berman Assistant Professor Glassboro State College berman@paul.rutgers.edu (609)863-7323
