I'm considering getting some DEC disk drives. In the past, my experience has been that they were less reliable than the disk drives of other vendors, sometimes significantly so. Has this changed any? I'm thinking of RA91 drives specifically. Also, are these the same drives that were called Sierra Alphas? If not, anybody have an opinion about these also? Please reply to sills@aerospace.aero.org or call me at 213/336-5913, unless you think it's of general net interest. If there is significant net interest, I'll post a summary of the responses. Thanks.
